Loves Lately Skincare #2

The other day on my Paris trip, I of course had to give the much talked/blogged about City Pharma a visit and pick up a few goodies (which is no easy feat as City Pharma is the most hectic shopping experience ever). First on my hitlist was Bioderma , arguably the Rolls Royce of micellar cleansers, Bioderma is a favourite of makeup artists the world over because the no-rinse, soap-free, pH-balanced formula removes even waterproof makeup without irritating sensitive skin. I like it as a night time pre-cleanse step or for removing the day’s makeup before re-applying for a night out. Everyone needs a bottle of this stuff in their beauty arsenal.

Next up was La Roche Posay’s Serozinc, first talked about by the skincare guru  Caroline Hirons. It is to be used as a toner after gently cleansing to soothe skin. This stuff is amazing but currently not available in the UK or Ireland. (Why Oh Why?!)
.
I am a big fan of the Super Facialist Range, mainly because it contains no SLS or Mineral Oil, which is known to irritate the skin. This Super Facialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil is infused with Vitamin C and nourishing olive, grape seed and rosehip oils to gently dissolve face and eye make-up and remove impurities. It's on offer now for just €9,33 at boots.ie .

Currently I'm using Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, which is an acid toner to exfoliate and help rebalance my skin's pH after cleansing. It also helps whatever you're going to put on next absorb better. Other acid toners worth considering include Pixi Glow Tonic and P50.
Read about exfoliating toners here!

I'm loving Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré at the moment, this creamy moisturiser can be used as a make-up removing cleanser, in a thick layer as a beauty mask, beneath make-up as a primer, in a thin layer as your daily moisturiser, or as a repairing after-sun care product. Talk about multi-purpose! I sometimes follow with a tiny drop of ESPA Regenerating Face Treatment Oil . Another great alternative oil is Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil

Some pampering?! Try Superfacialist Rose Hydate Mask, GlamGlow and Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Mask.

It's pretty obvious, but look after your skin, wear SPF daily and find out what products work best for you and try to educate yourself on what best suits your skin type.
