My Investment Pair Of Leather Pants //

Friday 30 December 2016

I have been looking for the perfect pair of 100% lamb leather pants for months and months and they are always out of stock or just too pricey. You can expect to pay anywhere from 1000e up! Browsing the COS website, I noticed their pants were back in stock so i wasted no time in adding to cart! I purchased them in the smallest size they do and they fit like a dream..

My go-to dressed up day look at the moment always includes some leather pants. They’re by far the easiest thing to throw on with an oversized sweater or a boyfriend tee and surprisingly super comfortable. Foe me, It’s all about finding a great pair with a cut and style to fit your body and matching them to certain tops and shoes to get that effortless somewhat polished look. I always wear leather pumps with mine unless at night, when only a stiletto will do!

Olaplex Hair Colour Treatment @ Preen, Dublin //

Sunday 18 December 2016

It's being touted as the most exciting moment in hair salons since the Brazilian Blow Dry, so of course I had to road-test the latest 'holy grail for coloured hair'  Olaplex.

Everyone's talking about it and no wonder, as hair colour trends get more frequent and more experimental, Kim Kardashian recently said that it was the reason she could go from black to blonde and back again with minimal damage.

In a nutshell, Olaplex is a turbo-charged conditioning treatment that repairs disulphate sulfur bonds within the hair structure, which can be broken down by heat, colouring or other chemical treatments. The natural disulfide bonds in hair are necessary to keep hair pliable and healthy. Bleaching, colouring, hot tools, excessive brushing and environmental factors can all lead to damaged bonds and ultimately breakage. Olaplex is able to create a synthetic disulfide bond in the hair which repairs the weak links in the protein strands allowing hair to appear healthier and stronger after just one treatment.

We got our Olaplex treatment applied at Preen, Dublin , which is the ultimate girl's boudoir. Small and intimate with Prosecco and cupcakes served while the treatment was applied.

There are 3 steps in the treatment.
Step 1- Our stylist applied this yellow liquid from root to tip for 5 minutes. This is the most concentrated solution in the line.  You can add step 1 to your bleach or hair colour and it will help to protect the hair and rebuild the bonds during the chemical process.
Step 2- This is a cream based solution known as 'a bond perfector' . It is left on for 10 minutes. It's a less concentrated version of the Step 1.  It is designed to repair any bonds that weren't repaired by Step 1 due to a missed application area, poor saturation or if bonds need just a little extra love. The hair can then be shampooed, conditioned and styled as usual.
Step 3-  This is where the magic happens.  You can use step 3 weekly to maintain the results.
One big and bouncy blow-dry later after lashings of Kevin Murphy texturising spray (love) and my hair had a mirror-like shine. The real proof is after you've washed and dried it yourself and it still looks as good. One wash down and my hair is just as soft, lustrous and strong as on the day. Total freedom of colour and elimination of damage - what's not to love? Oh yeah, think I'm in hair heaven!

We both were given 20% off any treatments/ makeup applications for the New Year. What a nice touch.

Bondi Sands Self Tanning Mouse Dark Review //

Friday 9 December 2016

One of the brands making major waves overseas right now is tanning brand Bondi Sands. It is currently the top selling tanning brand in Australia , selling a product every 30 seconds! It has just come into the UK and Irish market with a bang. Although the fake tan market here is already saturated , i am still looking for the perfect fake tan that ticks all the boxes, but does it even exist?

This tanning foam is most definitely for the girl who likes a super dark intense tan. Not for pale Irish skin , I'm afraid.

It was easy to apply, simply foaming the mousse onto a mitt and rubbing it all over my body. It dries in less than 5 minutes and feels very lightweight. The tan has a gorgeous coconut scent which is just dreamy! When I first put the foam onto my skin, the colour instantly darkened and I actually found I felt confident enough to leave the house without having to wash it off meaning it could develop all day long. This is amazing as it means that you can shower off after 6-8 hours meaning no orange bedsheets.

I found that the tan was a perfect colour for my skin – it mixed well with my skin tone resulting in a similar colour to what I have after a beach holiday. It is the perfect tan for those who want a dark, beach holiday tan and is completely streak free.

Victoria's Secret Models Beauty Secrets //

Tuesday 6 December 2016

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2016 made its debut in Paris on November 30, with some of the brand's hottest Angels hitting the runway for THE event of the year. After months of religious workouts, meticulous eating, and diligent beautification, the Victoria's Secret squad is ready to hit the runway. Here, the models  offer the beauty products and practices that they swear by all year-round.

A darker foundation shade gives your face the most natural bronze—especially if you just got a spray tan

In order to make models' faces appear sun-kissed and glowy, makeup artist Dick Page applied a wash of foundation in shades ever-so-slightly warmer than the models' skin tones. "We want the models to look lively, energetic, fresh, and healthy," Page said, as he dabbed a golden foundation on Alessandro Ambrosio face using a wet Beautyblender. "My body is always more tan than my face," Ambrosio confessed. "I live in L.A. so my skin is already a little tan, but I always get a spray tan [before the show] for a glow."
The best skin for a selfie? Dewy, but not overly shiny. "It's good to have a glow so you don't look like you have too much makeup on," Candice Swanepoel says "But if I take a selfie and I see that I'm super shiny, it doesn't look good." Her trick: Translucent powder on your t-zone.
Don't let the sun see your face—ever
Ambrosio swears by sunscreen every single day to keep her skin healthy. "After you turn 30, you need to keep your face out of the sun if you want to still work [as a model]," she says. Noted.
Cut out alcohol at least two weeks before a big event
French model Constance Jablonski made one easy switch to ready her skin for the show: she cut out the occasional glass of wine. "I don't drink a lot, but wine is full of sugar and it's not the best for your skin," she says.
Perfect beachy waves are not necessarily a result of the beach
The angel hairdo doesn't change much from year to year, but this year the look is a little more #iwokeuplikethis waves and less super-voluminous curls. To make models' hair appear as if it was straight from the beach (but better), hairstylist Sarah Potempa used her trusty Beachwaver iron to add waves to small portions of hair, leaving the ends out and twirling each section away from the face (to keep the curls in the same direction). "It's like you had your hair in a topknot and just took it out," Potempa says.
Monthly facials and no-makeup days are an angel must
"I get facials every month, and microdermabrasion every three months," Candice Swanepoel says about her skincare routine. "And no makeup when I'm not working!"
Tone down your natural lip colour with mauve
Yes—mauve. Dick Page applied the shade to Alessandro Ambrosio's naturally rosy lips before lip gloss to give them a cooler, more muted hue.
If you have a big event, you may just want to keep your makeup routine as simple as possible
You may not realise it, but it takes two identical runways shows (complete with performances!) to film the event for TV. You'd imagine that might make touch ups a challenge, but that isn't the case due to the effortlessly gorgeous makeup look. "If you don't do too much in the first place, maintenance isn't a priority," Page says. "They have to be able to get out in their skimpies and look incredible."

Candice Swanepoel says that for her skin, it's most important to think about what you're eating. "It's just trying to make sure I get Vitamin C or D. You can't have glowing skin on nothing,"
When asked how to get the perfect fake tan, Alessandra Ambrosio told Cosmopolitan"I'm loving the Victoria's Secret Daily Glow Gradual Tan Moisturiser SPF 15. I start using it about a week before a big event. It's pretty much goof-proof and it has SPF 15 so I look glowy and stay protected from the sun at the same time."
On her hair, Lindsay Ellingson says, "I never, ever blow dry my hair unless I'm working. I use Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner, which is really great. I also try not to shampoo every day. It can feel gross, but it really does help." For a summertime smokey eye, Adriana Lima's makeup artist uses a light brown eyeshadow in her crease and a shimmery gold shadow as highlighter. It's perfect for daytime and a bronze smokey eye will give you the sunkissed effect.
Lily Aldridge swears by Aveeno sunblock for her face and body. "I don't leave home without it!Behati Prinsloo's summer must-have is Mario Badescu Skin Care's Vitamin C Serum. The serum is an antioxidant, protecting skin from free radicals and it helps with collagen production.

To stay bikini-ready for summer, Doutzen Kroes sticks to "clean" foods like fish, veggies, and, she says, "lots of protein, salads - no chocolates, no candies."

For glowing skin, former Victoria's Secret Angel Selita Ebanks says, "A quick 20 minute steam at the gym a couple of times a month will ensure you get a natural glow all summer." If a little steam is all it takes to get skin like Selita's, we're in.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley keeps her signature lips in tip top shape by exfoliating and keeping them hydrated. "I use Lucas' Papaw Ointment religiously, especially when traveling. I also like to use a lip scrub, but when I don't have one, I just rub the edge of my towel to buff away dead skin after I wash my face,"

Karlie Kloss' famous short bob haircut is all about texture. "I spray Victoria's Secret Beach Hair Wave Spray in, scrunch it up and it looks like I've been at the beach all day,"

Nip+Fab No Needle Fix Plumping and Volumising Serum //

Nip + Fab is a fabulous skincare and body care range founded by Maria Hatzistefanis (founder of Rodial). Designed to
deliver targeted treatments for the face and body, the formulas are crammed with innovative and natural advanced skin smoothing, boosting and firming ingredients.

I tried the 'No Needle Fix' serum, which according to Maria, is a revolution in anti-ageing skin care with cellactive® form helps firm + volumes, osilift® reduces the appearance of wrinkles and
indinyl® ca softens + hydrates

The idea is that you use this before your moisturiser both night and day. I found the serum to be thick, almost gel-like and it has a light delicate fresh scent that is really pleasant. It is instantly absorbed into the skin and cools with contact which is always a lovely sensation in the morning. Once soaked into the skin it leaves behind no residue and dries to a natural matte finish.

So did it work? I was surprised by this serum, for the price tag, I didn't expect it to perform as well as some higher end serums but I was pleasantly surprised. I can see that my skin instantly felt smoother, softer, plumped and hydrated and tighter.
Personally I enjoy the velvet like base it gives in the morning, it almost feels like a nourishing primer.
