I expect a lot from my foundation, namely a flawless finish, an exact skin shade, a lightweight texture, great coverage, SPF protection and incredible staying-power. Not much then !
Which is why the news of Estée Lauder launching a new ‘Double Wear Foundation’ has been a dream for fans of the brand. While I love the staying power of the original , it's definitely too high coverage for my skin.
Lauder have described it as...
"Weightless yet powerful ultra-fluid makeup that feels like you have nothing on for the ultimate “no-makeup” makeup look. The 24-hour long wear formula delivers a healthy-looking, even-toned, flawless complexion, while SPF 30 and anti-oxidants give skin a defence against environmental damage."
So how does it stay on the skin for that long without ending up a cakey mess? Well, the foundation's pigments have been wrapped in a 'flexible polymer' that 'moves with the skin', plus it's oil-free. Both of these things ensure that the base doesn't slip/slide around the face or end up clinging to any problem areas.
Whilst the new foundation has a lighter coverage than it's original counterpart, the clever gel formula allows for it to be built up to a fuller finish—without looking heavy. Oh, and if your skin is prone to dryness, you'll be happy to hear that the new foundation also contains hyaluronic acid - to hydrate the complexion throughout the day and keep skin looking fresh and glory.
I was matched to the shade 'sand' and with 33 shades, everyones skin is catered for. I was on the hunt for an everyday 'no foundation foundation' and this is the perfect one!
