Anything But ( The Ordinary Skincare) //

Thursday, 26 January 2017

I had become resigned to the fact that good skincare costs a lot. I had been thoroughly convinced by the beauty industry that if you want products that work you simply have to fork out huge amounts of money as good skincare costs money, right?

Wrong.

So chances are, if you’re into beauty at all you’ve heard all the buzz surrounding the new skincare line from ‘ The Ordinary ‘ by DECIEM.  Finally, a skincare company has released affordable versions of products with proven active ingredients that actually work.  If you’re into active skincare ingredients such acids and retinoids etc chances are you’ve been investing pretty heavily into skincare because up to now ingredients such as those have been super expensive.

All of  the products from the range are  priced between €5-€14 euro which is unheard of, so is this really the most exciting breakthrough there has been in the skincare industry…. Its founder, Brandon Truaxe, says the range is full of ingredients that are well known, well proven, but typically overpriced and disguised as 'new' innovation.  Each product is made with just one or two ingredients, which apparently means they can be made and bottled more cheaply. The cheapest item in the range is the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%, which costs  €5 and promises to plump skin thanks to Hyaluronic Acid and a hit of Vitamin C.
The most expensive ,at €14 is Buffet, which has Matrixyl 3,000 peptide complex, a potent anti-ageing ingredient, as well as Syn-Ake peptide complex, which is thought to freeze lines like Botox.

I ordered the products from Ordinaries.com hoping for miracles! I came away with 9 products totalling less than €80 (which is ridiculously cheap) Hyaluronic Acid 2%- B5, Vitamin C Suspension 23% *HA Spheres, Lactic Acid 10%*HA 2%, Advanced Retinoid 2%, 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil and  100% Organic Cold Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil (for my hair) .
All of these are ingredients that I look for and already use in my skincare to tackle my dehydrated skin. I eagerly await these sleek little bottles!

UPDATE

received all 9 serums from the Ordinaries and have been blown away by how amazing they are- especially the Hyaluronic acid, buffet serum and Vitamin C serum. They are just incredible products for the price. My skin is so hydrated from just one use of the Hyaluronic acid. The vitamin C serum tingles upon application but i quite like this, it means its actually working! All that is missing from the range is an amazing SLS free balm / cleanser.
Definitely worth purchasing the whole range and now that it is available to buy on ASOS with free worldwide shipping, it couldn't be easier.

The Ordinary is now available HERE and HERE!
