Power Açaí Bowl Breakfast //

Monday, 9 May 2016

Alaí bowls look like ice cream, almost taste like ice cream, and make you feel good about your breakfast choice. It’s what breakfast dreams are made of. An acai bowl is basically a really thick smoothie that’s been topped with oatmeal, fruit or almond butter, and then you wolf it down with a spoon. For breakfast. After eating a bowl, you will not only feel happily full (for hours) and have satisfied a sweet craving (no need to cave for a biscuit), you’ll have also done something that was good for you. Win win.
Ingredients
    Smoothie
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped  mango
  • 1 heaping cup mixed berries
  • 1 frozen açai berry packet (Health stores / Amazon)
  • Toppings
  • granola (use sparingly)
  • about 1 1/2 - 2 cups sliced fruit for topping
  • 1 teaspoon hemp seeds, optional
  • 1 teaspoon cacao nibs, optional
  • maple syrup, optional

Instructions
  1. Combine the smoothie ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Fill the bottom of your bowl with about 1/4 cup of granola. Pour the smoothie over the granola. Top with more granola, the sliced fruit, and the hemp seeds, cacao nibs, and maple syrup, if using.
  3. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
