A sure-fire sign that the autumn is over has to be the re-emergence of heavy-duty over-the-knee boots. An over-the-knee, nearly thigh-high black boot may conjure up Pretty Woman-type imagery but there’s a classy, chic way to do it. Go for luxe (not patent) leather and a chunky or flat heel to add a casual counterbalance. The boots will work with a shift dress or pencil skirt for work and then leather leggings on the weekend. The Stuart Weitzman 'highland' boots featured below are definitely an investment at 960e but will last years (think of cost per wear!). I have recently bought a flat pair and have worn them non-stop!
