Leather Love

Monday, 25 August 2014

I think I found 'The One'. Isn't She lovely?!

I have been searching for the perfect leather jacket for 4 years now! I bought many and always sent them back because the leather looked tacky, the quality wasn't good, the hardware looked cheap....the list goes on.....

I saw this in Zara on the Champs-Élysées and it was love at first sight! I can tell it will get better with age. It's buttery soft to touch, comfortable and most importantly, cosy and warm.

100% leather, check. Rose Gold hardware, check. Fully lined, check.

Add to basket please and thank you!

Loves Lately Skincare #2

The other day on my Paris trip, I of course had to give the much talked/blogged about City Pharma a visit and pick up a few goodies (which is no easy feat as City Pharma is the most hectic shopping experience ever). First on my hitlist was Bioderma , arguably the Rolls Royce of micellar cleansers, Bioderma is a favourite of makeup artists the world over because the no-rinse, soap-free, pH-balanced formula removes even waterproof makeup without irritating sensitive skin. I like it as a night time pre-cleanse step or for removing the day’s makeup before re-applying for a night out. Everyone needs a bottle of this stuff in their beauty arsenal.

Next up was La Roche Posay’s Serozinc, first talked about by the skincare guru  Caroline Hirons. It is to be used as a toner after gently cleansing to soothe skin. This stuff is amazing but currently not available in the UK or Ireland. (Why Oh Why?!)
.
I am a big fan of the Super Facialist Range, mainly because it contains no SLS or Mineral Oil, which is known to irritate the skin. This Super Facialist by Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil is infused with Vitamin C and nourishing olive, grape seed and rosehip oils to gently dissolve face and eye make-up and remove impurities. It's on offer now for just €9,33 at boots.ie .

Currently I'm using Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, which is an acid toner to exfoliate and help rebalance my skin's pH after cleansing. It also helps whatever you're going to put on next absorb better. Other acid toners worth considering include Pixi Glow Tonic and P50.
Read about exfoliating toners here!

I'm loving Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré at the moment, this creamy moisturiser can be used as a make-up removing cleanser, in a thick layer as a beauty mask, beneath make-up as a primer, in a thin layer as your daily moisturiser, or as a repairing after-sun care product. Talk about multi-purpose! I sometimes follow with a tiny drop of ESPA Regenerating Face Treatment Oil . Another great alternative oil is Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil

Some pampering?! Try Superfacialist Rose Hydate Mask, GlamGlow and Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Mask.

It's pretty obvious, but look after your skin, wear SPF daily and find out what products work best for you and try to educate yourself on what best suits your skin type.

True Blue

The denim/ chambray shirt is having it’s moment of glory, the look which we all embraced in the 90′s is back again! A chic way to wear the denim shirt is with a skirt, as below, a casual maxi skirt or a day time mini. It's back with a bang and I love it! Casual and comfortable, its a wardrobe staple.

Rock Garden Color Combinations Create a calming mood in your rock garden by choosing a variety of fast-growing groundcovers in cool, analogous hues, such as blue and violet. In this site, the delicate blooms of Aubrieta 'Royal Blue' and Veronica 'Waterperry Blue' gently flow into each other, covering the stone steps with a soothing cascade of color.

How intricate is the detail on this clutch from Pennys/Primark? I love the turquoise and gold with the burnt orange. It's an absolute bargain at €11. In stock now.

Travel #3 I Bonjour Paris!

Monday, 11 August 2014

“A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of life.” Thomas Jefferson

Paris is all about the beautiful ornate buildings, the cute cafes , the energy, the pharmacies, the abundance of macaroons and amazing views of just about anything

& of course the shopping....

I 'prioritised' the French boutiques, Sephora and City Pharma !

Stay:
http://hotelcostes.com/

Shop :
One of the world's largest department stores, Galleries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann,
Avenue des Champs Elysees, Rue De Passy, Rue De Rennes & Rue Saint Honore

Visit :
The Eiffel Tower, The Lourve Museum, Arc De Triomphe, Food Markets, Notre Dame Cathedral, & Montmartre.

Paris is super expensive, expect to pay ridiculous money for basic food- €22 for a toasted sandwich?!
It is without doubt a beautiful city but definitely not my favourite European destination.

The Ritz | Paris, Even if you don't stay at the Ritz, go there for lunch, dinner, coffe or tea. It is worth it! TG
parisday6Ladurée, one of my fave Paris institutions. Of course love the macarons, but also their house-blend tea, their scented candles and they do a wicked brunch. I WILL be inside a Laduree' store in Paris one day!

Changing Faces

Friday, 8 August 2014

We welcomed Arabella into the world this week last year, weighing 7lbs 4oz ! What an amazing (and fast) year!

Arabella was a name I've heard a few times before, namely Jackie Kennedy Onassis called her stillborn baby girl 'Arabella' in 1956.  More recently , it has been used as a character in the Harry Potter films- Mrs Arabella Figg.

Arabella means 'Beautiful Alter' in Latin as well as 'Answered Prayer' .

Arabella @ 12 months ....

Sleeping routine : 10am -12, 3:30-5pm & 7:30pm-7:30am

Eating: Porridge w/cows milk / Meat /Chicken/Fish dinner & Light Tea

Drinking : Breastmilk am&pm, Cows Milk (8oz bottles x2 /3 per day) , Water (Boiled)

She weighs just over 20 pounds & is wearing  9/12mths clothes with 2.5F size feet!

Leave me some suggestions on what foods are best for tea time!!

A Trip Down Memory Lane //

Tuesday, 5 August 2014

Two years ago today, We got married!

I still get calls and emails from people asking about our wedding suppliers so I thought I'd put it together in a post to help all you brides-to-be.

When planning a wedding, you will see countless picture perfect wedding shoots in magazines, you will see perfect models in stunning wedding gowns plastered all over Pinterest, you will become obsessed with chair covers (!) invitations, the right shade of flowers but stop yourself! Perfection is overrated and unachievable.

The reality is, things will go wrong not big things, and guess what? No one will notice. Add your own little details, show some personality and do something different! Don’t aim for perfect, aim for fabulous!

And finally, remember what the day is all about!
